Coal Scam: CBI Court To Try Naveen Jindal, Madhu Koda Among Others
The special court on Friday put on trial former Congress MP and industrialist Naveen Jindal, former Jharkhand Chief Minister Madhu Koda along with 13 others on alleged charges of criminal conspiracy in connection with alleged irregularities in a 2008 Jharkhand coal block allocation.
Special CBI judge Bharat Parashar has also framed charges against ex-Minister of state for coal Dasari Narayan Rao and former coal secretary H C Gupta in connection with alleged irregularities allocation of Amarkonda Murgadangal coal block. The accused will also be facing trial under sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
The court has also framed charges against five firms – Jindal Steel Power Limited, Jindal Realty Pvt Ltd, Gagan Infraenergy Ltd, New Delhi Exim Pvt Ltd and Soubhagya Media Ltd.
The other individuals put on trial are K Ramakrishna Prasad, Managing Director of Sowbhagya Media Ltd (SML), Gyan Swaroop Garg, Suresh Singhal, Rajeev Jain, Girish Kumar Suneja and R K Saraf.
