US President Obama says Russian US election tampering ended after warning to Vladimir Putin

US President Barack Obama said on Friday that once he confronted Russian leader Vladimir Putin in September about Moscow’s efforts to influence the US presidential election, he saw no further evidence of Russian tampering.

Obama told a news conference he spoke to Putin about US concerns during the G20 summit in China in September, telling him to “cut it out” and warning of consequences if it continued. Obama said he has had similar conversations in the past with Chinese leader Xi Jinping about hacking US companies.
