Not many would have predicted the kind of impact the Uri attack would have on the Indian film industry. Reports are rife on the producer-director Karan Johar being forced to tweak the storyline of his next release Ae Dil Hai Mushkil after the ban on Pakistani actors and singers working in India.
In fact, there have been reports on how Johar is majorly rewriting the Fawad Khan-starrer, and even changing the nationalities of the two principle female characters in the film. The characters played by Anushka Sharma and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan are Pakistani, according to the existing storyline. An unconfirmed DNA report said Johar is apparently working on changing the story so that the two would now hail from a different country altogether. Not only that, the same article also suggested that the film-maker was toying with the idea of replacing Fawad Khan’s face with that of Saif Ali Khan!
As bizarre as that sounds, the replacement idea was enough to get the creative juices flowing for some, and lo and behold, we have ourselves a Fawad Khan-less Ae Dil Hai Mushkil trailer. Sumit Purohit, editor and writer, has taken the initiative and gone ahead to digitally remove Khan from the trailer, only to replace him with none other than FTII’s controversial chairman Gajendra Chauhan. Purohit uploaded a “new” trailer, saying, “Fawad Khan has been digitally replaced from Ae Dil by the heartthrob of the nation, Gajendra Chauhan. Please watch the film now. Peace be upon us.”
Watch the video, which has been aptly titled ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil Film Banana’, here.
