Arnab Goswami asked Virender Sehwag to talk about Piers Morgan on Newshour and this is what he said

Virender Sehwag at his witty best!

A few days ago, British journalist Piers Morgan made news when he commented about India’s performance during Rio Olympics. “Country with 1.2 billion people wildly celebrates 2 losing medals. How embarrassing is that?” he wrote, which drew a lot of flak from Indian Twitterati. The former CNN presenter got royally trolled and gave most of it back.

He didn’t stop at that. Piers picked up a battle with none other than former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag and waged 1 million dollars on England winning the World Cup before India wins another gold at the Olympics. “Hi @virendersehwag, I bet you 1 million rupees to charity that England wins a ODI World Cup before India wins another Olympic Gold. Accept?”

Indian Twiterrati took him head on for this one but the tweet that won the Internet came by Sehwag’s parody account.

“.@piersmorgan India Already Has 9 #Gold Medals, England Has Zero WC.
As Far As Charity Is Concerned, You Already Owe Us Kohinoor. #ENGvPAK,” wrote the person.

We all know of Sehwag’s presence on Twitter and his absolutely great sense of humour (birthday messages!), so trust him to come up with a classy response when asked to talk about who sounds like Morgan.

Yes, according to the cricketer, journalist Arnab Goswami asked him to come and air his views on “that British guy” during his show The NewsHour. But Sehwag believes the ‘guy’ doesn’t deserve any airtime so he refused.

“Arnab Goswami wants me to speak on that British guys views on India on NewsHour, but that man doesnt deserve any airtime, hence I have denied,” he tweeted. This was just one among many other tweets that went viral on social media and garnered massive support and response.

Here’s what people have to say:

Whether Goswami really called Sehwag or not, we can’t say given how sarcastic Sehwag can be but will Morgan respond to this? What do you think?
