This year saw many Indians attempting and succeeding in breaking and making Guinness records across a wide variety of categories. It was only recently that hundreds of people in Chennai set the record for the most number of headstands at the Yoga World Festival. Earlier, a bunch of Bollywood celebrities like Jacqueline Fernandes and Kalki Koechlin were part of the largest group to hold an abdominal plank for a minute, to make a Guinness record of the most number of people to hold an abdominal plank at the same time.
In an inspiring story, UK British Sikh model-cum-campaigner sporting a six-inch-long facial hair on Thursday entered the Guinness World Records as the youngest female with a beard at just 24 years of age.
Now, a beautician from Gujarat’s Surat city has made a Guinness World Record for cutting the hair of 571 people without a break for 24 hours!

According to an ANI report, Sheetal Kalpesh Shah owns a boutique parlour in Surat and started the haircuts spree at 9.14am on December 10 and ended 24 hours later on December 11. Reportedly, the idea of creating a world record came during a casual conversation she was having with her husband.
“I always wanted to do something unique in my life. I was discussing this with my husband. We later approached the Guinness officials and they gave their approval for it. Since it was the weekend, all things went smoothly,” Shah told ANI.
She said that her team supported her immensely and that she wouldn’t have completed the task, if not for them. Her employees too worked with her for 24 hours straight. Previously, the Guinness record was held by a London-based couple that cut the hair of 521 people.
A video uploaded on YouTube shows Shah at work as she vies eagerly to make the record.
