Google, on Tuesday, marked its entry into adulthood with a celebratory Doodle. As the company celebrates its 18th birthday, the doodle graphic shows ‘G’ of Google blowing a balloon up to spell out all the remaining letters, but ends up blowing it up too much and flies off in the air.

But there are some confusions about the company’s actual birth date. Founded by Larry Page and Sergey Brin in the year 1998, Google, since 2006, has celebrated its birthday on Google homepage on September 27 . But over the years, the company has celebrated its birthday on six different dates.

In 2006, Google celebrated its birthday on September 26. Before that in the year 2004, the company marked its 6th birthday on September 7, and before that it was on September 8.

None of the dates have marked anything significant. As per Google’s own history lists, its incorporation date was September 4, 1998. But no one is really sure when the company was originally established. In 2013, Google itself admitted they have no idea when the company was first born.  The company just decided to celebrate it on September 27 every year. Since its fourth birthday in 2002, the company has celebrated its birthday with a Doodle.
