Chinese President Xi Jinping visited Pakistan on April 20 for a two day visit. President Xi Jinping was received a royal welcome in Pakistan from the moment his plane entered Pakistan’s airspace as it was joined and escorted by Pakistan Air Force’s JF-17 Thunder fighter jets.

JF-17s are jointly manufactured and developed by Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC) and the Chengdu Aircraft Corporation (CAC) of China, thus the V-shape formation by the escorting jets was symbolic of their diplomatic ties.
