While the Internet is full of videos that people love to share, there are those that not only stump us to silence but even evoke a rage against those filmed because it captures some of the brutality and senselessness that exists in the world around us. And we tend to share such videos not only in a sense of outrage, but in the hope to expose those conducting themselves in such a despicable fashion.

The most recent video to be thus shared is believed to be of a Delhi High Court lawyer thrashing his daughter while hurling abuses at her. Reportedly the video had been shot by his other daughter, and was handed over to the police earlier in the week.

According to NDTV, the man lives in the Capital’s posh neighbourhood of Vasant Kunj, and has been married for 15 years. All this time, he would beat her regularly, as well as the daughters. The man – whose name has not been disclosed – allegedly assaulted his wife because they didn’t have a son.

Such horrific incidents are what makes the subject of the much debated article in a Malayalam daily Mangalam more alarming and less ridiculous. The piece titled ‘Want to conceive a male child? Here are some tricks’ was picked up by several online media and feminist sites, leading to the piece being taken down following the social media outrage that it had evoked.

In this video – which has been shared on various platforms such as Youtube – the man is seen beating his daughter while hurling abuses at her.

Reportedly, the man has denied the abuse and has accused his wife of attempting to take over his property.
