Samsung Galaxy Note 7 sales will be delayed in India too as part of the global suspension of sales following battery issues with some devices.

In a mailed response, the Korean tech giant said it is committed to producing the highest quality products and take every incident report from our valued customers very seriously. “In response to recently reported cases of the new Galaxy Note7, we conducted a thorough investigation and found a battery cell issue.”

However, Samsung clarified that till September 1 there have been only “35 cases that have been reported globally”. “We are currently conducting a thorough inspection with our suppliers to identify possible affected batteries in the market. However, because our customers’ safety is an absolute priority at Samsung, we have delayed sales of the Galaxy Note7 in India,” the note said from the Samsung India spokesperson.

The company said it acknowledges the inconvenience this could cause in the market, but said the move is aimed at ensuring that “Samsung continues to deliver the highest quality products to our customers”. The company has earlier said it would prepare replacement devices for sold phones, but the process could take about two weeks.
