Reliance Jio data tariffs are finally out, and the smallest plan starts at Rs 19. Reliance Industries Limited chairman Mukesh Ambani addressed Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Thursday and he made several crucial announcements pertaining to company’s 4G services in India. Reliance Jio customers will not have to pay for voice calls ever and roaming charges within India has been done away with. All Reliance Jio 4G data services are free or users till December 31, 2017 in India and the company will start rolling out e-KYC solution from September 5. The e-KYC process makes it even easier for users to get hold of a Reliance Jio SIM card, which is free, using their Aadhar card. Ambani said, “Jio is a data-strong network, built for the Internet from the ground up. It will cover 90 per cent of India’s population by March, 2017.”
Reliance Jio 4G service is currently in beta phase, and the company claims to have more than 1.5 million users on the network already. The Preview offer, which was restricted to Lyf handsets earlier is now open to most smartphone brands. Reliance Lyf 4G-enabled smartphones starts at Rs 2,999. Reliance JiFi hotspot device, which supports 10 devices simultaneously, is now cheaper by Rs 900. The JioFi device also comes with the Reliance Jio Preview offer, which gives users an access to free unlimited data and Jio premium apps for 90 days. Reliance Jio 4G data tariffs are cheapest in the world at Rs 50 for 1GB. RIL says its Jio Digital service is dedicated to India and 120 crore Indians. World’s largest only True 4G network
Ambani said, “There is one language spoken on Jio, the language of the Internet: IP. The all IP design makes Jio the most extensive and future-proof in the world.” The company has India’s first all IP network with its 4G network covering 18,000 cities and 2 lakh villages.
The network, he adds, is the largest only 4G and VoLTE network in the world. “Jio is future proof as it is 5G and 6G ready,” Ambani added.
Lowest data rates in the world
Reliance Jio offers 1GB of data at just Rs 50, making this the lowest data rate in the world. The data is free under the Preview offer for now, but they will be charged as per new data tariffs put out by the company from January 1, 2017 onwards.
Reliance Jio customers will only have to pay for the data, whereas both local and std voice calls are free, even when roaming. The company is offering unlimited 4G LTE data at night with all plans, between 2AM and 5AM. The data plans start at Rs 19 for 100MB 4G LTE data during day and unlimited 4G data at night. The one-day validity plan also offers 200MB free WiFi data, 100 SMS and free subscription of Jio Apps. The most expensive plan costs Rs 4,999 and offers 75GB free LTE data, plus unlimited free 4G data at night and 150GB free WiFi data.
Reliance Jio 1GB data at Rs 50
Reliance Jio data packs will start for as low as 5 paise per MB adding up to Rs 50 for 1GB, a fraction of the cheapest data plan in India at the moment. Reliance Jio will offer data packs ranging from Small (S) to XXXL. Airtel offers 0.5GB of data at Rs 148 with a validity of 28 days, whereas Vodafone India 0.5GB data costs Rs 147 for the same validity period. Reliance Communications has a 0.45GB data plan for Rs 149 with a validity of 14 days.
Reliance Jio will offer 10 data packs ranging from XXS to XXXL. The smallest plan starts at Rs 19 for 0.1GB data along with access to unlimited SMSes and 0.2GB WiFi data. Reliance Jio XS and s plans cost Rs 129 and Rs 299 respectively. While the XS pack comes with 0.75GB data, S pack gives users and acces to 2GB data. There’s access unlimited SMSes for all three. The XXS, XS and S pack come with a validity of 1, 7 and 21 days respectively.

Reliance Jio Medium pack costs Rs 499 and comes with 4GB 4G data and access to unlimited 4G at night. Another M plan is priced at Rs 999 and gives users an access to 10GB data. The L, XL, XXL and XXXL 4G packs are priced at Rs 999, Rs 1,499, Rs 2,499, Rs 3,999 and Rs 4,999, respectively. These give users an access to 20GB, 35GB, 60GB, and 75GB. All of these plans have a validity of 28 days.
Reliance Jio data packs come starting M , come with free unlimited SMSes. Also, they give users an access to Jio apps like JioPlay, JioOnDemand, JioBeats, JioMags, JioXpressNews, JioDrive, JioSecurity and JioMoney. The S plan gives users an access to 0.3GB data and 100 SMSes.
Reliance LYF devices and JioFi:
Reliance LYF smartphones are available in four series namely Earth, Water, Wind and Flame. The cheapest of the lot is its Flame series with smartphones starting at Rs 2,999. LYF Flame 3, Flame 4, Flame 5 and Flame 6 cost Rs 2,999. The most expensive is Earth 2 at Rs 19,999. LYF Earth 1 can be bought at Rs 12,499. Also, the Reliance JioFi device now costs Rs 900 less. The portable WiFi hotspot that comes with Jio 4G preview offer free was initially priced at Rs 2,899. It is already listed at Rs 1,999 on the company’s website now. The Reliance JioFi device now becomes more affordable and is one of the cheapest ways to access free data at the moment.
