After Facebook and Instagram, it is now Twitter’s turn to copy Snapchat. Twitter has come up with a QR Code scanner, which works just like Snapchat’s Snap Codes. You can use Twitter’s QR Code scanner to follow other users by scanning their profile. However, the QR codes on Twitter can’t be customised like the ones on Snapchat app, though their colour automatically changes each time you log in.
Twitter’s QR Codes display your profile picture on them. Twitter users on Android need to go to their profile and click the Menu tab to find QR Code scanner. The QR Code scanner appears in the profile for iOS users. The feature will roll out for users soon.
Twitter’s QR Code designer Brittany shared the launch of QR Codes on the website. “hella pumped to announce the launch of QR codes on twitter! they work like snap codes!! find yours: profile > gear > QR code,” she said.
Snapchat is an extremely popular app with 150 million daily active users. Rivals Facebook, Instagram and now Twitter have come with Snapchat-like features for their apps as well. Twitter recently rolled out stickers and the ability to draw on pictures before sharing something that has become popular thanks to Snapchat.
Instagram has a Snapchat-like Stories feature by the same name. Facebook, on the other hand, is reportedly working on Snapchat-like features for its camera features. Facebook Messenger is testing a Messenger Day feature which will be similar to Stories.
