Gmail for iOS gets updated: Includes undo send, spelling suggestions and more

Google has finally updated the Gmail app for iOS to add some new features, including the ability to undo send.

Google has finally updated the Gmail app for iOS to add some new features, bringing it at par with the Android app. Gmail and Google Calendar have both gotten an update on iOS with several new features being added to both apps. For Gmail this is the biggest revamp in the four years, with the app now sporting a fresh look, sleeker transitions. Google is promising the app is a lot faster as well.

Some of the features in the new Gmail for iOS app are: Undo Send, which is now being extended from desktop to the iOS version as well. Undo Send will ensure if you’ve made an embarrassing email mistake, you can undo it from sent mail. Now after a mail has been sent successfully, there’ll be an undo option right next to it, which you can hit if you realise you’ve made a mistake.

Gmail will now support instant results and spelling suggestions. If you spell words like flight, etc, incorrectly, Gmail will fix these in search. The new interface will also support Swipe to archive or delete in order to quickly clear items out of the inbox.

The Google Calendar on iOS also has some new features. For instance now month and week view will now be available in landscape mode as well. It also has Spotlight Search support, so you can search for events, reminders and goals straight in the Apple Spotlight Search. Google Calendar on iOS now also support alternate, non-Gregorian calendar, like Lunar, Islamic, or Hindu and a user can add these to their regular view as well.

Google is rolling out the update to all iOS users, and you’ll have to go to the App Store and update the Gmail, Google Calendar app to try these out.
