Yu has started rolling out a new security update to Yu Yutopia smartphone. The new update which is rolling out in phase brings incremental changes to the fingerprint reader.

The new update brings following new enhancements:

1. The fingerprint reader which only allowed for three attempts will now be able to take five attempts.

2. After five failed attempts, the fingerprint reader will automatically lock for 15 seconds.

The user can try unlock the device with fingerprint reader after 15 seconds or alternatively use PIN or password to unlock the device.

Yu is promising the new software update also fixes the touch issue reported by some users. The new update is based on software version YOG4PAS5WO and the device updates to Cyanogen OS version 12.1

Yu Televentures says the OTA update will reach devices over the coming two weeks.
