Yunicorn, which is a new flagship device from Micromax co-founder Rahul Sharma’s YU Televentures, will launch on May 19. The company has sent out press invites confirming the same.
Earlier YU promoter Rahul Sharma put out a post on YU’s forum stating that the company is working on a new flagship device that will ‘break all other flagships.’
Rahul Sharma’s post read, “Hope all’s well ! It’s been a while since we connected, due to obvious personal reasons 🙂 –> Its good to be back and re-connecting with YU. Post the YUTOPIA launch, we have been working at a different clock speed and momentum to break all that’s conventional and boring.”
According to Sharma, the phone is “insanely beautiful and it will break some hearts.” The post also had a new video, which doesn’t reveal much about the device.

Yu’s last flagship was the Yutopia smartphone that launched at a price of Rs 24,999. While the phone had a great design and a 2K display along with a 21 megapixel camera and 4GB RAM, it was marred by poor software integration.
Recently on GeekBench a device called YU YU5530 was spotted, which comes with 4GB RAM, MediaTek Helio X10 clocked at 1.8Ghz, with Android 5.1 Lollipop. It is not clear if this is the new YU flagship.

We’ll have to wait and see whether YU Yunicorn will indeed ‘break’ other flagships.
