Xiaomi Mi Note 2 will reportedly feature a curved edge display. According to GizmoChina, renders of Mi Note 2 has been leaked online revealing specifications of the smartphone. The Mi Note is said to come with a 5.5-inch OLED screen. There will be two variants based on display resolution – 2K and 1080p. Other leaked specifications include 6GB RAM, 128GB internal storage and Snapdragon 821 processor. Official images of Mi Note 2 reveal dual rear camera set-up and metal unibody design. The Mi Note 2 looks quite similar to Xiaomi’s Mi5 in terms of design. The smartphone was rumoured to launch on August 25, which clearly didn’t happen. Other reports indicate Mi Note 2 will go official on September 5 in China.
Earlier reports claim Xiaomi Mi Note 2 will be available in 4GB+64GB and 6GB+128GB storage options. Xiaomi is reportedly dropping external memory support for Mi Note 2. The device will support QuickCharge 3.0 for fast charging. The front home button will double up as fingerprint scanner. Phoneradar also reports that the 4GB RAM variant of Mi Note 2 with 64GB internal storage will be priced at 2499 Yuan (approximately Rs 25,000) while the 6GB RAM variant with 128GB storage could cost 2,799 Yuan (approximately Rs 28,000).
The rumours, however, need to be taken with a pinch of salt. Xiaomi has made no official announcement regarding the launch date or price of the Mi Note 2 yet. However, if rumours are anything to be believed, the Mi Note 2 looks more powerful a device in terms of specifications. We’ll have to wait and see how it is priced and when is it headed to India.
