SanDisk iXpand Flash Drive has been upgraded and now aims to quickly and easily free up space for iPhone and iPad users.
The redesigned iXpand Flash Drive drops the battery seen in the first generation device, and looks very similar to Leaf iBridge we reviewed very recently. SanDisk says its new iXpand Flash Drive can connect with most iPhone cases. The new flash drive comes in a maximum capacity of 128GB.
SanDisk has also updated its app with a richer tile-based interface, and native support for iTunes playback. SanDisk iXpand Drive also supports iOS camera natively, allowing users to shoot and store directly on the memory stick.
The company says almost 99 percent iOS users delete content when they run out of space and their product will solve this problem.
SanDisk iXpand Drive features both lightning connector and USB 3.0 connector for quick access on PC too. SanDisk offers SecureAccess encryption where users can keep a passcode or use TouchID for security.
“At SanDisk, we are constantly evolving the storage needs of consumers. Most consumers today don’t just want to augment their content, but also collaborate on content. With Wireless Content and iXpand Drive, SanDisk helps consumers achieve those needs,” Rajesh Gupta, Country Manager, SanDisk Corporation said.
He further added, “SanDisk is studying evolving consumer VR, and will soon be introducing memory cards with higher read/write speeds to stream VR content.”
