Disney and Intel are collaborating on a new holiday experience for people visiting the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida during the holiday season called the ‘Starbright Holidays – An Intel Collaboration’ show. The show will be using Intel’s recently launched Shooting Star drones that have been designed for light shows, and will display colourful images across the sky.

Intel says that its collaboration with Disney will mark the first time ‘a show-drone performance of this scale’ has taken place in US. The show will be featuring 300 Intel Shooting Star drones, which will be flying in a choreographed manner to put up night time aerial performances set around the holiday theme.

Disney says that the aerial ballet of these light show drones will be accompanied by specially orchestrated seasonal classic scores. The 300 drones at the airshow will work like a cluster and can be controlled by a single computer.

“We are excited to work with Walt Disney Imagineering to bring a fresh and innovative approach to its world-renowned light shows,” said Josh Walden, senior vice president and general manager of Intel’s New Technology Group. “Together, we worked to tackle a new frontier in entertainment, picturing the sky as our canvas and flying lights as ink.”
