Apple's new MacBook Air, MacBook Pro for the year 2016, will launch at a special event on October 27.

Apple, Apple October 27 event, Apple MacBook event, Apple Mac event, Apple Macs launch, Apple MacBook 2016 launch, Apple MacBook launch, Apple MacBook launch India, Apple new MacBooks Apple MacBook Air, and Pro 2016 will launch on October 27, according to an announcement from the company.

Apple has sent out media invites for an October 27 event where it is expected to launch the refreshed MacBook Pro, MacBook Air lineup for 2016. Apple has already got an event page up, which says ‘Hello again’ and adds, “Join us here on October 27 at 10 a.m. PDT to watch the keynote live.” Apple will be streaming the event live as always. The official confirmation comes after a report on Recode said October 27 will be the date for the event. The MacBook overhaul was long overdue, so it’s not surprising this event is taking place, given the September keynote was all about the iPhone 7 and the Apple Watch Series 2.

With Apple’s invite reading ‘Hello again’ it remains to be seen if there will be some new announcements around Macs and Siri. Apple’s latest macOS Sierra update has already added Siri to its OS for Macs, and the voice-assistant can now perform the same tasks it does on iOS.

While Sierra is already out and ready to download for users, the new MacBooks are expected to come with the latest Intel 7th generation processor, as well as AMD ‘Polaris graphics chips’ on the 15-inch MacBook Pro. The new MacBook Pro and MacBook Air (13-inch) will have a slimmer form factor, according to leaks.

Recent reports have also indicated Apple will ditch the regular USB ports, and instead add Type-C ports and Thunderbolt 3 Ports on the new MacBook series. The MagSafe charging port will also be done away with, according to reports.

The other big design change to the MacBooks is expected to be around the Function keys. Numerous reports and leaks have indicated Apple will do away with these keys and instead add a touchscreen OLED strip called the “Dynamic Function Row” where functions can be used to match applications dynamically.

With the MacBook Air, we’ll see Apple sticking with the 13-inch screen version of the device, and the 11-inch version will be done away with. Apple already has a 12.9-inch powerful iPad Pro on offer for customers, so this is not surprising. Apple MacBooks could also come with support for Touch ID fingerprint security support.
