BBC India’s Twitter account did not appear to be in a very festive mood after Sania Mirza won the Wimbledon 2015 women’s doubles final on Saturday as they credited only Martina Hingis for the win.

“Hingis wins Wimbledon doubles final,” read the tweet.

Union HRD Minister Smriti Irani was quick to highlight the error and said “so does Sania Mirza”. The tweet, a few hours old, was re-tweeted 411 times on the social media platform.
