On Sunday, Barcelona manager Luis Enrique said in reference to the clever, yet brave, penalty move involving Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez: “I’m sorry but I don’t think anything special happened. I’m used to seeing them train and there they are even better,” and Monday, Messi proved this right.
Not many can debate Argentina and Barcelona star Messi’s brilliance on the pitch. There have been numerous examples of him leaving defenders in his wake, hounding the opposition defence and playing for the team’s cause when not in the best position. But, in training, with no real pressure on him, he created something magical with Italian musician Eros Ramazzotti visiting.
Standing some distance away from the goal and at a less than zero degree angle, Leo casually chipped the ball forward and saw it spin back into the goal much to everyone’s surprise (does that even happen anymore when it involves Messi?) as Messi, deservedly, took a bow.
