It is the third consecutive time that a match has ended 1-1 in this season’s ISL. Kerala Blasters were firmly in the drivers seat throughout the first half and seemed determined to extend FC Pune City’s wait for at least a point at home.

But the second half presented a picture that was quite the opposite. Pune came out with one thing in their mind-to get back in the game. And that is what they did as soon as the referee blew the whistle to mark the commencement of the second half. Kerala were able to see off the Pune attacks and seemed to have settled at just parking the bus when Mohamed Sissoko tucked in the equaliser.

Kerala tried to switch into attacking mode but Pune were on the move, and hit Kerala with repeated counter attacks, The lack of co-ordination in the final third and players trying shots from improbable angles and failing miserably were the reasons why Pune could not find the winning goal in the second half and the same could be sad about Kerala in the first.

Unfortunately, these problems are becoming more and more of a feature in the ISL for all teams.
