The Indian Super League 2016 will be decided on Saturday when Kerala Blasters take on Atletico de Kolkata. Both teams had to fight it out in every stage of the season to get to where they are this season. Kerala Blasters and Atletico de Kolkata didn’t have the best of starts to the season. While Kolkata had a problem with a leaky defence, Kerala were guilty of beong unable to score goals.
But it all came together in the final round of matches as they overpowered Mumbai City and Delhi Dynamos, both of whom had much better records in the league stage. While Kolkata managed to overpower Mumbai 3-2 through normal play in, Kerala drew 2-2 with Delhi Dynamos and won 3-0 on penalties.
Iain Hume and Helder Postiga have formed a formidable partnership up front for ATK while Borja Fernandez has been a rock in front of the back four. Kerala Blasters themselves have a pacy attack with CK Vineeth and Kervens Belfort while the defensive combination of Hengbart, Aaron Hughes and Sandesh Jhinghan have worked wonders for them.
