Suresh Raina turned 30 on Sunday and the cricketing fraternity wished the southpaw on social media. But Raina himself doesn’t seem like one to hit the town. He had a session in the gym with his Uttar Pradesh team mates before going for  a dinner with them.

Raina uploaded a video for himself working out in the UPCA gym at Rajkot. He then followed up the post with an image of him with his team mates having dinner. Uttar Pradesh are set to play Railways on  Tuesday and preparations for the match are evidently in full swing. Raina himself will look to impress in the match so as to secure his place in the Indian team for the England ODI series come January.

Raina is back in the Uttar Pradesh Ranji setup after he was indisposed due to viral fever. He also missed India’s ODI series against New Zealand because of the same reason. His importance to the Indian side cannot be overstated. Over the years, Raina has proven to be one of the most consistent batsmen in the limited overs format in addition to being one of the best fielders in the side.

India are currently playing out a rigorous five match Test series against England. India lead the series 1-0 and are set to start Day 3 of the third Test with Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja on the crease.
