Ranji Trophy: Siva Kumar takes career-best haul, takes Andhra to innings win

Elsewhere in Group C, Jharkhand 94/1 after HP's 304, Services 219/4 vs Goa, Hyderabad follow-on vs Assam.

Medium-pacer Duvvarapu Siva Kumar took a career-best haul of 11 wickets in the game, including four in the second innings, to guide Andhra to a comfortable innings-and-eight-run win over Tripura in a Group C Ranji Trophy match on Thursday.

Siva Kumar, who picked up seven wickets in the first innings, returned with figures of four for 54 to help Andhra demolish Tripura in their second essay.

After bowling out Tripura for 151 in the first innings, Andhra scored 310 all out.

In the second innings also, Tripura’s batting line crumbled to be bundled out for 151 yet again.

Besides Siva Kumar, CV Stephen (3/51) and DP Vijaykumar (2/22) were the other wicket-takers.

Jharkhand 94/1 after Himachal make 304

Jharkhand made a good start after Himachal Pradesh were all out for 304 in their Group C Ranji Trophy match on Thursday.

At stumps on the third day, Jharkhand were 94 for one with Rameez Nemat and Saurabh Tiwary batting on 53 and 40 respectively.

Jharkhand trailed by 210 runs with nine wickets remaining in the first innings at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium.

Purkayastha wreaks havoc with five-for

Off-spinner Swarupam Purkayastha returned a five-wicket haul as Assam enforced a follow-on on Hyderabad by bowling out the hosts for 215 in their first innings in a Group C Ranji match.

The hosts were struggling in their second innings too as they have lost opener Agarwal with the scorecard reading 21 for 1 in 5.3 overs.

Anshul ton takes Services to 219/4 against Goa

Anshul Gupta struck an unbeaten century to guide Services to 219/4 in their Group C Ranji Trophy match against Goa on Thursday.

Responding to Goa’s first-innings total of 304 all out, Services trailed by 85 runs with six wickets remaining when stumps were drawn on the third day at the Palam A Ground Model Sports Complex.
