Ishant was ruled out of New Zealand Test series due to chikungunya and Gambhir was busy on national duty in the same series.
“Ishant and Gambhir will be playing in this match,” chief coach KP Bhaskar told PTI today.
Ishant’s fitness will be tested before the start of match against Karnataka and Gambhir will like to reassert his place in the side as reserve opener in place of Shikhar Dhawan.
While Ishant was not able to play a single match in the Test series, Gambhir replaced Dhawan in playing XI at Indore scoring a second innings half century on the best batting strip in the series.
Delhi have had a mixed start to their Ranji Trophy campaign. They won the first game against Assam but conceded first innings lead against Maharashtra in the second match even after wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant scoring a triple-century.
