India vs West Indies: Here's what coach Anil Kumble has to say after India's win

India is on a tour of West Indies for a 4-match Test series. This is Anil Kumble's first official assignment with Team India as head coach.

India recorded their biggest win outside the sub-continent after they thumped hosts West Indies by an innings and 92 runs.

Off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin bagged a total of 7 wickets in second innings to guide the visitors to this emphatic victory.

Ashwin produced an off-spin bowling masterclass to grab 7/83.

This was also the Tamil Nadu spinner’s first five-wicket haul outside the Asian continent.

India wrapped up West Indies for 243 in their first innings and then concluded the match after bowling out the Caribbean team for 231 runs in the second innings.

Earlier, India rode on skipper Virat Kohli’s double century to score a mmoth 566/8 in the first innings.

Umesh Yadav and Mohammad Shami picked up 4-wicket hauls a piece in the first innings to put India in driver’s seat.

Head coach Anil Kumble couldn’t have asked for a better debut for his new job.

India is on a tour of West Indies for a 4-match Test series.

This is Kumble’s first official assignment with Team India.

Kumble who is India’s most successful bowler with 619 Test scalps to his name took to social media and said, “Good win team. Great collective display of skill and determination by everyone. Let’s continue the momentum as we move to the next one @bcci”

India will now play their second Test match at Kingston from July 30.
