It was another exciting day of Test cricket in Mohali as India and England battled it out in the third Test on Sunday. The second day of the Test saw India begin their first innings after they bowled out England for 283 in the first innings. In reply to England’s score, India were 271 for the loss of six wickets, just 12 runs behind England’s score.

England will not be completely satisfied with their performance on the field but will be content that this pitch has not shown signs of spin or any uneven bounce.

On second day of the third Test, England resumed at 268/8 but were bowled out for 283 with India’s Mohammed Shami picking up both the wickets. India in reply got off to a decent start with comeback opener Parthiv Patel and Murali Vijay. That was before Vijay edged one behind. India went to Lunch at 60 for the loss of one wicket.

Parthiv was looking in great touch and scored 47 before being adjudged leg-before off Adil Rashid. The Twitterati also praised the innings from the seasoned campaigner.

But what the social media was really worried about was the poor form of Ajinkya Rahane who was once again dismissed cheaply. Rahane was LBW for the score of zero.

Virat Kohli and Cheteshwar Pujara scored half-centuries to keep India on track but the hosts suffered a batting collapse in the middle. From 148 for 2, India slipped to 204 for 6 with recongised batsmen back in the hut.

It took an unbeaten 67-run stand between R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja to review India and take them to 271 for 6 at stumps. Here are the other reactions on Twitter
