England vs Pakistan: Alex Hales, England create records in 444 run onslaught
England hit a world record ODI total of 444 for three in the third match, surpassing Sri Lanka's 443-9, at Trent Bridge on Tuesday.

Alex Hales became the highest scorer for England in ODIs with 171 from 122 balls with 22 fours and four sixes.
England set a new world record of highest total in a One-Day International match, as the hosts put a mighty total of 444 against Pakistan in the third ODI match at Nottingham. The previous record was held by Sri Lanka who had scored 443 against Netherlands at Amstelveen in July 2006.
Alex Hales became the highest scorer for England in ODIs with 171 from 122 balls with 22 fours and four sixes. In doing so, the right handed batsman broke a 23-year-old-record held by Robin Smith against Australia, who remained unbeaten after scoring 167 in 1993.
Also amongst the runs was Joe Root who scored 85 from 86 balls, Jos Buttler scored 90 and captain Eoin Morgan remained unbeaten on 57. Also highlighting Pakistan’s abysmal bowling was the fact that they gave away 26 extras.
The brunt of the English batting was felt worst by Wahab Riaz who gave away 110 runs from his 10 overs. Meanwhile, Hasan Ali managed to pick up two wickets but still went for 74 runs. Mohammad Amir didn’t hurt the English batsmen much and conceded 72 runs from his allotted overs.

England are 2-0 up in the five match series and are extremely likely to seal the series today itself at Trent Bridge. The Test series had finished 2-2 with Pakistan winning the final Test.
