PV Sindhu was knocked out of the World Super Series Finals by South Korea’s Sung Ji Hyun 21-15,18-21, 21-15. While Hyun managed to overpower Sindhu in the first set to win 21-15, she had to fight hard in the second one as Sindhu kept coming back with every point that she won. Finally it was Sindhu who came out on top 18-21 to force the Korean into a third game.

The Korean remained largely dominant in the third set. She had to deal with a late fight back from Sindhu, Hyun managed to win 21-15 yet again.

Hyun had most recently faced Sindhu in the semi finals of the China Open in which she lost 11-21, 23-21, 21-19. In that match she had managed to save three match points in the third game to win. Sindhu then went on to win the China Open, her first Superseries title. She also became only the third Indian to win the China Open.

She then managed to get to the finals of the Hong Kong Super Series where she faced Chinese Taipei’s Tzai Tzu Ying. However, she ended up on the wrong side of the scoreboard this time and lost 21-15, 21-17.

In Dubai on Saturday, Sindhu was overpowered by Sung Ji Hyun in multiple times and managed to keep her cool to push the match into a third game.
