‘Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder’, the famous quote by Plato seems to be reinforcing its significance almost every day in the fashion world. Though many are trying hard to break conventions and myths about standard concept of beauty, the actualisation is rare and if it happens it requires a great shout out.

Recently, keeping in mind that everyone is beautiful, a beauty pageant was organised in Mumbai for visually impaired girls. Forty-four ladies participated in the event that was a spin-off of the popular Miss India contest.

Dressed in beautiful lehengas, gowns and ethic attires, the girls walked down the ramp showcasing grace and style. The confidence and smile not only thrilled the audience but also boosted their morale.

The event organised by the National Association for the Blind (NAB) and a non-governmental organisation Blind Dreams was a unique way to celebrate unconventional beauty standards.
