

From today, all interested candidates can apply for the National Eligibility Test (NET) that will be conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on behalf of the University Grants Commission (UGC) on January 22, 2017. The last date to apply is November 16.
The examination will be held in 84 subjects at 90 selected cities across the country. The forms are available on the official website cbsenet.nic.in.

For general category candidates: Rs 600
For OBC: Rs 300
For SC/ ST: Rs 100

Eligibility
Candidates who have secured at least 55 per cent marks in Master’s Degree or equivalent examination from universities/institutions recognised by UGC are eligible for the UGC NET. The OBC / SC/ ST/ PWD category candidates who have secured at least 50 per cent marks (without rounding off) in Master’s degree or equivalent examination can apply.
Those aspirants who have appeared or will be appearing at the qualifying Master’s degree (final year) examination and whose result is still awaited or candidates whose qualifying examinations have been delayed may also apply for this test.
