Rajasthan: Acid attack on college student

The girl was attacked in broad daylight while she was on her way to college, police informed.

A 20-year-old college student suffered injuries on her back and neck when allegedly two unidentified bike-borne assailants threw acid on her, police said on Monday.

The girl, a student of Maulana Azad Teachers’ Training College was attacked on Monday by two motorcycle-borne youths who threw acid on her, ACP Durg Singh Rajpurohit said.

The assailants fled the scene after the attack, he said. “She has sustained minor burn injuries on her back and on the neck behind the right ear, but she is out of any danger,”

Ajay Malviya, MG Hospital’s surgical unit head said, adding that she is being kept under constant observation.

The incident took place while the victim was on her way to the institute in the morning , police said.

The assailants have not been identified, they added.

“The girl has not expressed suspicion on anyone,” Rajpurohit said adding that they are investigating the case from all possible angles.
