As the indefinite strike of students and teachers of the Pondicherry Central University continued for the 12th day, talks between protesters and a two-member committee appointed by the Ministry of Human Resource Development did not reach a conclusion on Friday.
Striking students and Pondicherry University Teachers’ Association (PUTA) issued a statement saying they are being forced to continue the strike as the HRD ministry was unable to address their grievances.

The statement said the meeting held Thursday was not helpful as they were not allowed to discuss evidence against V-C Chandra Krishnamurthy.

“HRD ministry said that Vice-Chancellor’s ‘fake CV’ or the fact that she plagiarised an entire book has nothing to do with us. They said it will not affect our degrees,” the statement added.
