Ahead of the NSA level talks between Indian and Pakistan, the Bharatiya Janata Party on Friday reiterated its stand that talks and terror cannot go together.
Pointing out that no one can dictate terms to the country, the BJP national spokesperson Sambit Patra said here that ‘talks between National Security Advisors of the two countries were not prime ministerial level talks, but these were talks on the issue of terror. These talks were to discuss ways and means to check terror…these talks were how to finish terror’’.
NSAs of both India and Pakistan, Ajit Dovel and Sartaj Aziz, respectively, are meeting on August 23. Terror dossiers prepared by both the countries are expected to dominate the talks.
Patra attributed the raising of ISIS flags in the Valley and spurt in incidents of cross border firing to Pakistan ISI’s plan to destabilize BJP governments both at the Centre and in Jammu and Kashmir. The BJP is taking these incidents very seriously and that is why the Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh is repeatedly saying that befitting reply will be given to the people involved.
However, one shall also understand the ongoing conspiracies as ISI has not been able to digest BJP’s majority government at the Centre and also its coming to power in the state. While government is taking all steps to counter continuous attempts to destablize it, one shall not only remain sympathetic to it, but also ensure its stability for development of the state and welfare of the country, he said, adding that formation of BJP-PDP coalition government has been a biggest experiment about democratic values in the state.
About continuous Pakistani firing along the borders, the BJP leader said that Indian security forces were giving a befitting reply to the neighbouring country. There will be no laxity in retaliation to such incidents as there has been a strong and stable government in the country, he added.
Patra also launched a scathing attack on AICC vice president Rahul Gandhi, saying that the only family drunk with arrogance of power in the coutry had been Gandhi family and it resided at 10 Janpath. “The expectation of the family is either any of its member is in place of Prime Minister or anyone who becomes Prime Minister of the country functions as its puppet whose strings are in the hands of 10 Janpath and when it does not happen, the only way the Congress and the family resorts is such kind of politics of arrogance which the country is witnessing today,’’ he added.
‘However, the country today has a very strong Prime Minister whose only aim and agenda is to take the economy of the country forward, he added.
