Munde targets state for failing to get Central relief

BJP MP Gopinath Munde on Wednesday criticized the Maharashtra government for failing do enough to get drought-relief assistance from the Union government and asked the government to convene a cabinet meeting in Aurangabad as the region is among the worst affected.

BJP MP Gopinath Munde on Wednesday criticized the Maharashtra government for failing do enough to get drought-relief assistance from the Union government and asked the government to convene a cabinet meeting in Aurangabad as the region is among the worst affected.

He said senior ministers of the state government had failed to get funds despite repeated meeting with the Central government as they had gone without adequate homework. He claimed though Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar had promised Rs 600 crore to the state for drought-mitigation measures,the funds had not come through. “It indicates that Pawar has been given a status,but not the authority.”
