
A 45-year-old executive of UB Group was arrested in Bengaluru Tuesday, three days after he rammed a BMW car into an autorickshaw, injuring four persons. Samrat Chadha has been booked for drunk, rash and negligent driving, said police.
On Saturday night, Samrat Chadha was behind the wheels of a BMW car when it allegedly jumped lanes and rammed an autorickshaw. While the four persons in the autorickshaw were injured, the autorickshaw was badly damage.
Chadha’s car was impounded and he was detained by the police that night. He was arrested from his residence Tuesday and released on bail.
According to the police, medical tests showed that Chadha was under the influence of alcohol on the night of the accident. He has a history of drunk driving and was booked in the past in Mumbai and Goa for similar offences, said the police.
