Former state minister and Trinamool Congress leader Madan Mitra, an accused in the Saradha scam case, has finally managed to get a house on rent at Bhawanipore in Kolkata.
Since his release from prison on bail on September 9, Mitra had been staying at a hotel in Bhawanipore. Sources said Mitra would leave the hotel on Tuesday to stay at a rented accommodation on Rakhal Mukherjee Road.
According to his bail conditions, Mitra cannot step out of Bhawanipore and thus has not been able to stay at his residence in Kalighat. “He has been complaining of back pain due to the hotel bed. Moving from jail to the hotel was like moving from one lock-up to another. He is likely to shift to this rented apartment on Tuesday,” said a close aide.
