Three JeM operatives sent to 10 days police custody by Delhi court

Delhi Police had earlier this morning detained 12 people suspected to be linked with a terror outfit planning an attack in the city.

A Delhi court on Wednesday sent three suspected Jaish-e-Mohammed operatives to 10 days police custody.

The three identified as Sajid Ahmad, Sameer Ahmed and Shakir Ansari were arrested while fabricating an Improvised Explosive Device

This, after the Delhi Police told the court that live cartridges were recovered from suspected JeM operative Sajid, in the national capital.

Suspected JeM operative Sajid’s left hand was burnt, when live cartridge was recovered from him, the police told court.

Documents related to a terror organisation were also recovered from suspected JeM operative Sakir and Sameer.

Their movement was being continuously monitored by the central intelligence agencies and special cell of the Delhi Police for last one year, sources said, adding the trio had got indoctrinated through the Internet.

While Sajid and Sameer hail from Delhi, Ansari is a resident of Deoband in Uttar Pradesh.

The three had been learning to put together IEDs over the past fortnight and last night Sajjid, the alleged kingpin of the group, got injured while making the explosive device.
