Sacked state convenor of Aam Aadmi Party, Sucha Singh Chhotepur Wednesday condemned the shoe hurling in Punjab Assembly but said that “Majithia however deserves it”. A shoe was hurled at Punjab Revenue Minister Bikram Singh Majithia by Congress legislator Tarlochan Singh Soondh in the state assembly amid high drama on Wednesday.

“I am not in the favor of this shoe throwing and all. These are cheap acts to gain publicity. Par Majithia ne kamm joote khaan vaale kitte hai (Majithia has done things which deserves getting hit by shoes),” said Chhotepur, on sidelines of his Punjab Parivartan Yatra in Ludhiana.

However, he asserted that he is completely against such acts. “It is disgraceful to throw shoe at somebody. I am against it. But it is for the first time that elected representatives of an assembly are protesting there and SAD-BJP has done this highly shameful act of disconnecting power supply to suppress their voice,” said Chhotepur supporting Congress MLAs protest.

“They are elected MLAs. What did they want? They only wanted discussion on issues of Punjab which is their democratic right. Even women MLAs are sitting there without power. So undoubtedly they deserve shoes being hurled at them,” said Chhotepur.

Chhotepur also announced that currently he has no plans to merge his Parivaratan Yatra with Navjot Singh Sidhu’s Awaaz-e-Punjab. “I am not going anywhere, not joining any party but efforts are on to bring all like-minded fronts at one platform. We will be announcing our next step after September 16,” said Chhotepur.

On Kejriwal’s allegation that Sukhbir Badal has 63 more ‘fake’ CDs to implicate AAP leaders, Chhotepur said, So it means Kejriwal knows that his MLAs and leaders have done 63 offences at 63 other places. If not, then how can CDs be prepared?”
