FOLLOWING A proposal by an NGO linked to RSS members, the government is considering celebrating May 11 as National Philosophers’ Day.
The proposal was floated at an event to mark the birth anniversary of ancient sage Adi Sankaracharya Wednesday. Organised by an NGO Navodayam, founded by senior RSS member P Parmeshvar, and Faith Foundation, the event had Minister of State for Culture Mahesh Sharma as the chief guest. RSS joint general secretary Krishna Gopal — who has been designated by the Sangh as its representative to communicate with the BJP — and All India Sah Prachar Pramukh J Nandkumar were among others present at the event.
