Pune will soon get four Hamsafar trains for four major destinations, including Ahmedabad and Chennai. The Railway Ministry has announced 20 new Humsafar trains. One of which, Pune-Amravati, originates in the city, three others, including the Sri Ganganagar-Tiruchchirappalli, and the Ahmedabad-Chennai trains, will traverse via Pune.
The Pune-Amravati express trains will have halts at Daund, Ahmednagar, Kopergaon, Manmad, Jalgaon, Bhusaval, Akola and Badnera.

As per the release issued by the Railway Board, the dates for implementation of these services will be announced later.
It was also notified that the frequency of popular Pune-Nanded Express will also be increased. The train currently plies thrice a day. It was also informed that a daily train from Solapur to Miraj will also be introduced.
Humsafar Express, announced by Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu in his Railway Budget speech this year, are specially-designed air-conditioned trains with bio-toilets in the coaches and special dustbins. The trains are designed to cater to country’s middle-class travellers with an optional facility of meals-on-the-wheel. The coaches have adequate mobile, laptop charging points and is disabled-friendly with Braille displays.
The Sri Ganganagar-Tiruchchirapali train will have halts at Hanumangarh, Pilibanga, Suratgarh, Bikaner, Nokha, Nagaur, Metra Road, Jodhpur, Pali, Marwar Junction, Sirohi Road, Falna, Abu Road, Palanpur, Mehsana, Ahmedabad, Nadiad, Vadodara, Anand, Bharuch, Surat, Vapi, Boisar, Vasai Road, Kalyan, Lonavala, Pune, Satara, Sangli, Miraj, Ghataprabha, Belgaum, Dharwad, Hubballi, Sarai Harkhu, Ranebennuru, Harihar, Banavar, Birur, Arsikere, Tiptur, Tumakuru, Banaswadi, Chikbanavar, Krishnarajapuram, Whitefield, Bangerpet, Karur, Namakkal and Salem.
The Ahmedabad-Chennai train will have halts at Anand, Vadodara, Bharuch, Surat, Vapi, Boisar, Vasai Road, Panvel, Pune, Solapur, Gulbarga, Wadi, Yadgir, Raichur, Mantralayam Road, Adoni, Guntakal, Gooty, Tadipatri, Muddanuru, Yerraguntla, Cuddapah, Razampeta, Renigunta, Arakkonam, and Perambur.
