Political leaders, journalists pay homage to veteran journalist Girish Nikam

Union Minister Ananth Kumar and a number of other political leaders on Tuesday paid homage to senior journalist Girish Nikam, who died here yesterday. The body of the 59-year-old mediaperson was brought to the premises of Rajya Sabha Television, where he had anchored the popular show “Big Picture” for a number of years.

On Monday, Nikam had suffered a massive heart attack after he completed recording for his favourite show at the RS TV studios and was taken to the nearby RML Hospital where he breathed his last. Girish’s body is being taken by his brother Niranjan, also a journalist, to Bengaluru, where the last rites will be performed tomorrow.
