Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday said Prime Minster Narendra Modi proved to the world that ‘India is no longer weak.’ Welcoming Modi during the Dussehra event at Lucknow’s Aishbagh, Rajnath hailed the PM for proving India’s strength to the world. Rajnath’s statement can be seen in the context of the surgical strikes the Indian Army conducted in PoK, destroying terror launch pads.

Speaking at the event, the Home Minister said that Lucknow, which is his Lok Sabha constituency, represents the composite culture of the country. He said the city is the ‘karmabhoomi’ of former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Breaking from the past PM Modi attended the Ramleela in Lucknow. The move is significant as the Uttar Pradesh goes to polls next year.

During his address, the PM said terrorism is the biggest enemy of humanity. “Jatayu was the first one who fought against terrorism. If a country of 125 crore keep an eye on every terrorist activity, they will never succeed. After 1992 Mumbai blasts, US said that terror is nothing but a law and order problem in our country. But after 9/11 they came around and started talking about terrorism,” he said.

The PM made a plea that the world needs to unite against terrorism as terror has no boundary. “Those who destroy our world are modern-day Ravana,” he said.
