A 16-year-old girl was raped by three youths when she had gone to the fields at Titerwada village in Shamli district, police said on Thursday. In a complaint registered by the girl’s father, he alleged that the accused trio approached her when she had gone to a field and took her to a nearby place, SHO AP Bharadwaj said.
They also threatened to kill her if she complained, he added. The absconding accused have been identified as Munawar, Inshad Ahmad and Nahidunder, the officer said.
A case has been registered under section 376 (Punishment for rape) of IPC and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO), Bharadwaj added. The victim has been sent for medical examination, he said.
