WITH THE storm over Union minister Ram Shankar Katheria’s hate speech targeting the Muslim community yet to settle, the RSS has launched a new outfit in Agra that will raise the demand for same compensation to the family of a deceased VHP worker as was awarded in the Dadri lynching incident.
At a Sangh meeting held on February 28 to condole the death of Arun Mahaur allegedly by Muslim youths, speakers had equated Muslims to “demons” and warned of a “final battle”.
Despite the uproar that followed, RSS’s Dalit Garjana Nyay Morcha, an outfit formed with various organisations in Agra, has now decided to hold another massive agitation on March 18 with three demands. The RSS is leading the preparations to lay siege of Agra Collectorate campus.
“The first demand will be more financial assistance, a house and government job for one member of Mahaur’s family, just like it was given to the family of Mohammad Akhlaq (who was lynched by a mob in Dadri over rumours of consuming and storing beef). Second demand will be the identification of those who are not named in the FIR of Mahaur’s murder but are involved in killings of anti-cow slaughter activists. Third, all cases lodged against leaders who spoke during Mahaur’s condolence meet be withdrawn,” said Manmohan Nirankari, RSS’s Braj prant prachar pramukh.
Police have obtained non-bailable warrants against VHP leader Ashok Lavania, BJP leader Kundanika Sharma and ABVP activist Shashank Chaudhary.
