Jharkhand: 3 killed, 5 injured in lightning strikes

Jharkhand: The injured have been admitted in Garwah Sadar Hospital, where the condition of two was stated to be critical.

Three persons including a class X student were killed and five others injured when lightning struck them at different places in Garwah district on Wednesday, the police said.

A 15-year-old student Ashish Kumar was killed and five other students injured, two critically, when thunderbolt struck at the campus of a Government High School in Ramna block of the district, the police said.

The injured have been admitted in Garwah Sadar Hospital, where the condition of two was stated to be critical, they said adding all injured were students of class X.

In an another incident, a 55-year-old man and a 50-year-old woman were killed when lightning struck them at Bans village of the district, the police added.
