

Drug smugglers are back in action on the India-Pakistan border. Border Security Force (BSF) personnel on Sunday seized seven packets (weight approx. 3.75 kg) of suspected to be heroin in the area of responsibility of Border Out Post Pulmoran Sector Amritsar on Sunday.
BSF Kissan guard party deployed ahead of fence recovered the packets hidden under straw in a field. The total cost of recovered drug is estimated around Rs 19 crore. BSF official said that suspicious movement was witnessed in this area and. “We are investigating if the owner of the field is involved in this smuggling attempt,” said official.
The recovery of the drug has highlighted that drug smugglers have turned active. The tensions between the two countries and the increased vigil had hit smuggling business here.
