Mayawati demands removal of V K Singh and Manohar Lal Khattar over Dalit killings

Mayawati said the visit of Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi to Faridabad was a “drama.”

BSP chief Mayawati on Friday demanded the removal and arrest of Minister of State for External Affairs, General(retd) VK Singh, for his controversial remarks while commenting on the killing of two Dalit children in Faridabad.

The former UP chief minister told reporters in Lucknow that Singh should be sacked from the ministry and put in jail for his controversial and objectionable comment.

She also demanded that Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar should be removed from his post as he is unable to protect Dalits in the state.

Mayawati alleged the Dalits and Muslims are not safe in the country under the BJP rule. Mayawati said Dalits living with self-respect are being targetted.

“Dalit family which had left the village was brought back into the village after the formation of new government and was provided the security. Burning of the children even after the police deployment is serious,” she said.

Mayawati said suspension of policemen is not enough and they should be put in jail after registration of a case against them.

She said Faridabad incident is “shameful” and shows that the BJP is not concerned about Dalits.

Mayawati also said the visit of Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi to Faridabad was a “drama.”

“Mohan Bhagwat’s praise of Ambedkar and Gautam Buddha is futile if he is not following their footsteps as his recent remark suggesting review of reservation shows”, she added.
