With President Pranab Mukherjee signing their warrants of appointment, all four names — three high court chief justices and one senior advocate — recommended by the Supreme Court Collegium last week are set to take oath as Supreme Court Judges later this week.
Union Law Minister D V Sadananda Gowda confirmed the new appointments in a series of tweets Wednesday night.

Sources said the formal notification pertaining to the elevation of Chief Justice A M Khanwilkar of Madhya Pradesh High Court, Chief Justice D Y Chandrachud of Allahabad High Court, Chief Justice Ashok Bhushan of Kerala High Court and senior advocate and former Additional Solicitor General L Nageswara Rao to the Supreme Court is likely to be issued tomorrow and they are likely to take oath on Friday.
The Supreme Court Collegium had recommended their names earlier this month, the first since the National Judicial Appointments Commission (NJAC) Act was struck down by a Supreme Court bench last October.
