Five days after a central observer in the Vyapam examinations was found dead on the railway tracks in Odisha, a CBI team Tuesday visited the site and interrogated railway officials.
The body of Bahadur, a Bhopal-based retired IFS officer of the 1978 batch and central observer in two of the Vyapam tests, was found on the tracks near Belpahar station of Jharsuguda district on Thursday night.
The body was spotted by a train driver an hour after the Puri-Jodhpur Express in which Bahadur was travelling left the station. RTI activist Ajay Dubey and Congress leader Digvijaya Singh had demanded a CBI probe into the incident.
Sources said the CBI team from Delhi spoke to railway officials in Belpahar. They also went through Bahadur’s post-mortem report, which said the death was caused by serious head injuries.
According to the report, Bahadur fell and hit his head on the floor. Bahadur was a central observer for Grade 3 contractual teachers in 2011 and food inspectors in 2012.
